Why Quality Management is No Longer an Option

A recent article from the Quality Digest made it very clear that utilizing quality management solutions is no longer an option for companies hoping to be successful. As the author so eloquently put it, “In today’s ultra-competitive manufacturing environment, relying on traditional supply-chain execution systems is not enough to protect a company’s brand.”
With fierce competition comes the necessity for high product quality and safety. Ultimately, manufacturing companies need to address and resolve quality issues before the products are in the “hands of the consumer,” or the consumers are in the hands of the product, as is the case with automotive vehicles. To obtain higher levels of control over their products and operations, “leading manufacturing companies are implementing enterprise quality management solutions (EQMS) to standardize and harmonize quality processes, systems and data within a single integrated platform.”
Enterprise quality management allows companies to have “immediate visibility” which allows for speedy solutions and quick resolutions. As the saying goes, time is money. With Quality Management, comes more time and with more time, comes more money and more success.
